Age UK Lambeth’s 2016 Celebrating Age Festival begins on the 1st October 2016, the International Day of Older Persons.
We have again put together a month of events which show the breadth of things to do when you live in Lambeth and celebrate the richness and diversity of our community. They are aimed at those of us aged over 55 and their carers, but everyone is welcome to non-ticketed events.
In this website, you will find returning favourites, including a screening at Brixton Ritzy, music at Lambeth Mission and trips to the Victoria & Albert Museum and Dulwich Picture Gallery. We also have great new events such as an illustrated talk about a wartime Lambeth midwife, performances from the Loneliness Street Theatre Cabaret, an Africa Day at the Vida Walsh Centre and a chance to be pampered at The Salon SW4!
As ever we are indebted to the many local organisations who contributed to the festival, both those who put on events and hose who provide invaluable services and support to Lambeth residents.
Make sure you come along to our Information Day on Wednesday the 12th to meet an array of organisations working all year round to provide older people with a better quality of life.
Age UK Lambeth is delighted to support the festival again and must specially congratulate festival founder Maurice Charlesworth who this year received a British Empire Medal for his work.
We raise most of our funds locally and you can donate to help our work by using the donation boxes at Celebrating Age events, visiting our website to click on the Donate button or by completing and returning the form at the back of this brochure.
All details listed on this website are correct at the time of going to press. Any subsequent changes or additions will be listed in a supplementary sheet available from our reception at 336 Brixton Road and downloadable from our website.
Wishing you a very enjoyable October!
